When these issues do arise, the Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NIC U) at the Baby Place is there to provide babies with the very best care available. Known as the ‘Dreamery,’ The Dr. P. Phillips Baby Place NICU has a world-class team of neonatal specialists, supported by the newest technologies and techniques, compassionate and experienced nurses, and the latest treatments for the care of premature babies.

A Family Approach To Healing
Because critical care situations don’t happen on a set schedule, the NICU is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by an experienced team of highly trained neonatologists, neonatal nurses, respiratory therapists and pharmacists. These professionals are focused entirely on the care of critically ill infants so families can be confident their baby is in the best of hands. Throughout the baby’s stay, parents are an essential part of the healing process. They are consulted regularly about their baby’s care and are involved in the decision-making. Moms get plenty of cuddling, feeding and nurturing time at the Dreamery, and can even room-in with their babies if desired, so they can make them feel safe, secure and loved as they heal.
